Lalu Prasad sentencing in fodder scam case postponed..

Lalu Prasad and others sentencing in fodder scam case postponed till tomorrow due to the passing away of one of the advocates there, Mr. Vindeshwari Prasad.

Also, a order has been issued by the CBI judge Shiv Pal Singh, ‘contempt notice’ against Lalu’s son Tejaswi Yadav and three other political leaders for making statements before media regarding RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s conviction. Other two leaders to be served notices by the Honourable court are RJD vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Shivanand Tiwariand Manish Tiwari.

‘Jagannath Mishra to bail, Lalu to jail’ these statements were given by these leaders earlier.

A special CBI court had on December 23 had convicted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and 15 others in the case related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 84.5 lakhs from the Deoghar district treasury between 1990 and 1994.

Lalu Prasad’s lawyer on Tuesday told reporters that they would press for minimum punishment in the case.
