Thank you, everyone, for a successful event : Indian Law Conclave 2018

Indian Law Conclave, a three-day National Conclave was organized by Adhrit Foundation, INY Foundation and Model Governance Foundation – member organizations of the Alexis Group at International Youth Hostel, New Delhi from 29th June – 1st July, 2018.

The central theme of the conclave was Changing Landscapes of Legal Systems in India. The conclave had participation of over 75 delegates from all parts of the country. 35 Speakers from diverse fields such as Politics, Law, Business & Management, Education & Research, Technology, Media, and Development spoke at the conclave and inspired the young delegates.

Mr. Aditya Singh, Founder and Chairman of Alexis Group welcomed the delegates and speakers to the first edition of the conclave. The inaugural speaker of the conclave was Shri Udit Raj (Ex-IRS), Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), North West Delhi and Renowned Social Activist. He shared his perspectives and experiences as a law student, bureaucrat, social activist and politician. He also launched the official t-shirts of India Needs You Movement.

Mr. APJMJ. Sheik Saleem, Managing Trustee, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation and Mr. K. Abdul Ghani, Green Man of India were Guests of Honor at the Inaugural Ceremony, they shared their experiences of working with Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Bharat Ratna and Former President of India. They also reminded the delegates about his vision and mission for India and encouraged them to become innovative. Mr. Pratik Gauri, Chairman and Managing Trustee, INY Foundation proposed Vote of Thanks to conclude the inaugural ceremony.

 

The first academic session of day on Policy Making and Legislation Drafting in India was conducted by Mr. Shantanu Gupta, Author and Political Analyst. Shri Ghanshyam Tiwari, National Spokesperson, Samajwadi Party & Founder of GoodEd Technologies presented his life journey through an interactive presentation titled I, You, Us, & Now in Politics in India. The final presentation of the day on Open Innovation was delivered by Mr. Varadarajan Krishna, Managing Director, Induct AS and 100 Open Startups. The delegates engaged in networking with speakers, organizing committee members and fellow delegates over dinner to conclude the intriguing day of learning and discussions.

The second day opened with a presentation on Tackling Corruption in a Connected World by Dr. Harsh Pathak, Advocate, Supreme Court of India. He shared his learning and experience of working with a large number of global stakeholders in the field of anti-corruption. His session was followed by a Townhall Session with Mr. Vikas Pandey, IT Evangelist and Investor. He shared his experience of using Social Media for mobilizing communities and creating an enabling environment for social good. Adv. Himanshu Sharma
Co-Convenor, Legal Cell, BJYM Rajasthan conducted the third session of the day on Uniform Civil Code. In his session, he passionately put forward the need for UCC for inclusive development of the country.

Mr. Vinay Maheshwari, Sr VP, Marketing, Dainik Bhaskar Group shared his insights on Working in a Traditional Media Company and Role of Media in building New India.

His session was followed by a Panel Discussion on Building Startups in the 21st Century. The panelists included Mr. Vinay Singhal, Co-Founder & CEO, Wittyfeed, Mr. Saarthak Bakshi, CEO, International Fertility Centre, and Mr. Aditya Goel, Co-Founder, Love in Store. All the three speakers shared their respective journeys, engaged in a freewheeling discussion with the audience, and provided an insider view of the startup world. The panel was moderated by Mr. Pratik Gauri.

The panel was followed by a Keynote Lecture on Laws of Success by Prof. (Dr.) Shailendra Singh, Director, IIM Ranchi. The inspirational lecture was imbedded with traditional wisdom and supported by modern-day examples. The next session of the day was a Townhall Session with Smt. Sowmya Reddy, Hon’ble MLA, Jayanagar, Karnataka. She shared her life journey with the delegates. She also provided her perspectives on social activism, role of youth in politics, and environment and human rights causes. The session was followed by interactive session on Youth Activism by Mr. Prabhloch Singh
Founder, Human Rights Protection Group & MFP Federation. The next session on Menstrual Hygiene was conducted by Ms. Urmila Chanam, Founder and CEO, Breaking the Silence.

The final session of the day on Inspiring Youth for Nation Building was conducted by Shri Manoj Tiwari, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), North East Delhi and President, BJP Delhi State. The session was an amalgamation of wisdom, humor and soulful music.

The final day began with the Paper Presentation Competition. It was followed by a session on Changing Landscapes of Education in 21st Century by Mr. Pratik Uppal, Educationist, Coach and Trainer and Mr. Santosh Nair, Senior Placement & Training Director, Parul University.

The next session was on Relevance of Dharma and Constitution of India for New Generation India. The speakers were Shri Sunil V. Deodhar, National Executive Committee and Incharge, Tripura State, Bharatiya Janata Party and Adv. Aditya Shankar, Advocate, Supreme Court of India.

Shri Vijay Bahadur Singh, Former Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha) and Advocate General, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Founder, Hammurabi & Solomon and Shri Prabhu Nath Rai, President, All India Bhojpuri Samaj were the speakers for the Valedictory Ceremony. They inspired the delegates with their life experiences and words of wisdom.

The conclave saw launch of INY FoundationIndia Law Forum and Vidhi. The conclave also gave awards to top delegates. Lawyered, was awarded the top emerging legal tech startup of the year.

ILC Organizers – Mr. Aditya Singh, Mr. Pratik Gauri, Ms. Danielle Hassid and Mr. Umesh Kumar thanked all the speakers, guests, delegates and organizing committee members for making the conclave successful. They shall be convening more events in the spaces of law, leadership, entrepreneurship and public policy in the near future.
