Woman Files Plea In SC Seeking Directions To Centre, Railways To Ensure Rail Passengers’ Safety.

Jyoti Singh, whose husband was allegedly thrown off the moving train when he tried to film Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables allegedly indulging in extorting money from vendors in the train, has approached the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the Central government and Railways to ensure the safety of train passengers.

When her plea came for hearing before the bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, her counsel said: “Safety of the passengers in the train is a pan-India problem and the government should take measures for the safety of passengers.” The bench issued notice to the Centre and Railways, and sought their response.
