Amity Law School, Lucknow campus is conducting a National Workshop and Faculty Development Programme on Client Counselling and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) between 14-18, March 2018.

Aim and Objectives of the programme

“Discourage litigation; persuade your neighbours to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the normal winner is often a loser in fees, expense, cost and time.”-Abraham Lincoln

The Workshop has a multi-disciplinary approach as it focuses on issues related to client counselling, advocacy skills and various ADR mechanisms. We acknowledge the participation of all the Academicians, Professionals, Research Scholars and Students in the Programme.

The need to impart expertise, skills and awareness in client counselling and arbitration is now increasingly being experienced. Both client counselling and arbitration are the most important attributes of the legal fields.

In the present scenario, where the judiciary is over burdened with cases it becomes the duty of the lawyer to understand the needs of his client and suggest suitable means for settlement of his disputes.

Client Counselling is an art where you win over the trust of your client by assuring him that he will be benefited by your aid and advice. Similarly, there are so many alternative ways of settling disputes outside the courtroom like negotiation, mediation, conciliation, arbitration etc.

In the light of the above condition it becomes imperative on the part of the budding lawyers to understand the technicalities involved in the process of client counselling and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism.

Henceforth, the core objective of the Programme would be to develop and hone the skills of the participants in the areas of client counselling and ADR mechanism. The workshop intends to adopt a definite methodology to achieve the objectives of the programme.

Besides conducting the practical sessions giving inputs of skill, the participants would also be allotted the assignments for testing theirs client counselling skills and understanding of ADR mechanism.
